Jellyfish in a Bottle Craft Tutorial

This craft is perfect for any kid no matter of the age.
I'm 23 and I think it is a really cool idea.

You'll need:
Plastic shopping bag
Water bottle
Blue food coloring
Thread
scissors

First, cut off the handles and the bottom of the bag. Then cut the sides of the bag so you have 2 pieces. We will only be needing 1 piece.
Take the half and make a little balloon in the middle and tie it with the thread. Don't tie it too tight as we will need to put some water in it later on.

Next cut the longer part into a bunch of thin tentacles. You can cut some of it off if it looks like it will be too bulky for your water bottle.
Next turn your jellyfish over and pour a little bit of water into the head. Make sure you leave some air in there or it won't float.
Put your jellyfish in your water bottle.
Add a few drops of blue food dye. Not too much otherwise you won't be able to see through the water.

And you are done. Let the kids flip it over and see their jellyfish float. I know when Aubree gets older I will definitely be making this with her :)

  1. You totally saved my life tonight! Tomorrow is show-n-tell for my granddaughter and it had to start with the letter J. This project was a quick fix for us since we had nothing to send. I superglued the lid shut on ours so that when the other kids handled it the water would stay put.
